Water Wheel requires unlocking and researching the Water Wheel technology (
File:Energy.png Energy.Victor.T2.Water Wheel). Unlocking the technology requires scanning 2
Water Wheel Fragments with the
Scanner. Fragments can first be found on Level 4 - Hydro of the Freight Elevator. Researching the technology requires
Research Core 380nm (Purple) (30x).

Usage[]
The
Water Wheel is a critical component for the automation of
File:Energy.png Energy generation within the factory, removing the need for hand cranking of
Crank Generator. It is also a requirement for unlocking Tier 3 of Production Terminal Victor, which requires
Core Composer (1x) and
Water Wheel (5x).

Other information[]
When placed in a water source, the
Water Wheel produces 100 Nm of torque to turn
Crank Generator and
Crank Generator MKII. The orientation of the water wheel with respect to the direction of the water travel does not seem to matter - it will still produce maximum torque. Each Crank Generator (MK I and MK II) requires 10 Nm of torque, so a single water wheel can power 10 crank generators in parallel.
Water Wheels can be placed in parallel, contributing more torque additively i.e. 2 x Water Wheel will produce 100 Nm of torque which can be sued to power
Crank Generator (10x) in parallel. While the
Water Wheels require a minimum 1 block of space between them, they can span a gap to another water wheel or crank generator of up to 3 blocks.
Water Wheels must be placed at a height of 1 boxel above the water and not on a floor.
Multiple
Water Wheels can be placed in the same parallel line of generators to produce sufficient torque.
