Classified pulverizer separates flora and other substances into materials for fuel and production. Requires electricity.

The Thresher converts a single input material into 1 or more output materials, via a process called "threshing". It forms a core part of many production systems of simple and more advanced materials, as well as providing options for improving existing production flows e.g. the threshing of Iron Ore into Iron Ore Powder to achieve a higher ratio of ore to ingots.

Obtaining

Unlocking

Access to Threshers requires unlocking and researching the Thresher technology (synthesis - PT LIMA - T4 - Thresher). Unlocking the technology requires scanner a single thresher Fragment with the Scanner. Thresher fragments can be found in the storage area on Level 3 - Storage, immediately across from the Freight Elevator. Then, the technology needs to be researched using Research Core 380nm (Purple) (2x).

Usage

The Thresher takes a single input material for all its recipes. Many of those recipes give multiple output products however. The use of Filter Inserters to direct specific outputs to specific belts is highly recommended. A Thresher requires 400 kW of power to operate at its regular speed.

Research

Thresher (1x) and Kindlevine Stems (6x) is required to unlock T2 of PT Victor.

Upgrades

Through the tech tree, the Thresher has a number of upgrade options, including increasing its speed (how quickly it completes a given recipe) and its power consumption. Like many machines, there is Thresher MKII which doubles output at the expense of doubled input. However, this allows for fewer machines required to produce the same amount of output, compared to the Thresher.
