The Copper Ingot is of the basic ingots created in the game and forms the basic building block of many later parts and technologies. It is also used to unlock a tier of Production Terminal Lima.

Unlocking[]
The Copper Ingot is automatically unlocked after upgrading Production Terminal Lima to Tier 2. There isn't explicitly a technology associated with its unlock in the UI.
Crafting[]
Copper Ingot's cannot be handcrafted in the Groundbreaker's inventory and requires automation via machines for construction.

Usage[]
Copper Ingot's form a core part of many intermediates parts as well as some machines. A steady production of Copper Ingots will be critical to any factory in the early game.
Copper Ingot's, along with 
Iron Ingot's are required to unlock Tier 3 of Production Terminal Lima. Unlocking requires 5 x Iron Ingot's and 5 x Copper Ingot's to be submitted to the Terminal at Lima.
