Techtonica has barriers which, like much of the base building components, are largely cosmetic. They can provide a useful stop to prevent you running off the side of buildings. All barriers are one block deep and so prevent you building to the very edge of the Floors unless you face them outwards which is not possible for the corners. Barriers can be placed on the ground as well as on Floors.
